Webinar: Strengthening the OpenCRVS Implementation Ecosystem

We are pleased to share the key insights from our recent webinar on the Strengthening the OpenCRVS Implementation Ecosystem, which took place on 21st August 2024. The session highlighted significant developments within the Implementation Partner Programme, contributions from our two accredited partners, and updates on our global implementation efforts.

Key Highlights:

Importance of the Implementation Partner Programme: The webinar emphasised the essential need for a strong ecosystem of organisations capable of implementing OpenCRVS at a national scale. The programme is designed to mitigate risks associated with low-quality implementations, ensuring that countries receive a version of OpenCRVS that is both fit for purpose and sustainable.

Skills-Building and Accreditation: The Implementation Partner Programme offers a structured approach to building and assessing the skills necessary for successful OpenCRVS implementations. The programme features a detailed skills-building syllabus and an accreditation assessment. Our Accredited partners benefit from the use of the OpenCRVS logo, increased global visibility, and ongoing support from the core team.

Success of Cohort 1: The first cohort of accredited partners, Bevolv and Technoforte, successfully completed the programme. They demonstrated proficiency in configuring OpenCRVS, deploying production-level server infrastructure, and making significant contributions to the platform’s development. Their success solidifies their roles as key members of the OpenCRVS community.

Insights from Accredited Partners: Our accredited partners, Bevolv and Technoforte, shared valuable insights into the market opportunities they see in implementing Digital Public Goods (DPGs). They emphasised the strategic advantages of becoming an accredited OpenCRVS Implementation Partner, including enhanced visibility and the ability to lead in the growing field of DPG implementations.

Launch of Cohort 2: Cohort 2 of the Implementation Partner Programme is now open for applications on a rolling basis. This approach allows organisations to apply and begin the programme as their resources become available, providing greater flexibility for new partners. The first modules are scheduled to be available from 23rd August 2024, with all content accessible by 20th September 2024.

Expanding Global Implementation: OpenCRVS is now being implemented in seven countries, with significant progress being made in each. Notably, two of these implementations are supported by our accredited partners, Bevolv and Technoforte, highlighting the growing impact of the programme on global civil registration and vital statistics systems.
