Product Council Meeting 15th February 2023

We held a Product Council meeting on 15th February to discuss the requirements for registering marriage and divorce. We received insightful contributions from different members across the African region.

The key questions explored were:

1. What types of marriages do you register in your country? e.g. Civil/ Religious/Traditional. How does registration differ for these types of marriages?
2. Who is responsible for registering marriages and divorces? How is this different from births and deaths?
3. What is the process for registering a marriage?
4. What is the process for registering for a divorce?
5. What are the challenges with registering a marriage or divorce?
6. What are the common use cases for marriage certificates in your country?
7. What are the common use cases for divorce certificates in your country?
