In April 2023, in the run-up to ID4Africa, the OpenCRVS team supported the Government of Mali to develop a Proof of Concept of the platform in just 3 weeks.

The PoC is helping Mali to:

1. See a digital civil registration solution that serves their needs in the hands of users. Based on this, they can design a CRVS digitisation strategy and plan and get the required investment.
2. Explore different service delivery models to see how they can increase completeness rates e.g take services to where they occur in the community and health facilities.
3. Witness the transformative impact of offline services on the quality of service delivery.

The OpenCRVS Team is working with the Government of Mali to explore next steps.
